Our client needed to add new test cells to an existing facility that is used for testing of gas turbine generator sets. The new testing facility consisted of 2 building structures with the first building housing 4 test cells, plus office space, and the second building 3 test cells. A new gas compressor system, cooling tower cell, and electrical load banks were among the major utility improvements on this project.
Dynamic Engineering Design was responsible for the preliminary utility and process design of the test facilities. Utilities included cooling tower water, liquid and gas fuels, compressed air, and a nitrogen purge system.
HVAC design was also provided for the test cell areas as well as the office space located in the 4 bay building.
Dynamic Engineering Design also provided electrical design for this project. Design included power feeds to the new test cells, a new 5MW load bank for power dissipation, test cell and outdoor lighting, 120V UPS, power distribution, data and telecom wiring, and life safety systems.
