Our Food and Beverage client in Indianapolis, Indiana, needed to add new underground process drains, concrete slab on grade, and steel maintenance platforms for their new production line installation.
Demolition of the existing slab on grade floor was required and a new drainage system was added back in its place.
Roof and floor supported steel platforms were designed to support and access multiple conveyor systems used in the beverage manufacturing facility. The platforms were framed around new equipment such as: Palletizer, Depalletizer, Rinser, Labeler, Filler, Cone Packer, and Cap Feeder.
To maximize floor space, the upper level platforms were roof supported using hangers from Constant Shear Joists.
Dynamic Engineering Design was responsible for the structural design drawings, bid package development, bid review, contractor selection, submittal review, and construction management.
Construction was ongoing during the 24 hour production cycles. Visqueen tarps and a temporary wall were used to prevent dust and debris from entering adjacent production areas.
